March 2004 Minutes

Tuesday March 16, 2004 - 7:30

Mr. Alfonso Leo, the owner of Joey's Deli opened the meeting. Mr. Leo wanted it known that he is the owner of the deli, but does not own the property. The property owner is aware of our neighborhood concerns regarding illegally parked cars and the private sanitation company coming into our neighborhood at 6AM. Mr Leo stated the illegally parked cars are not his patrons, these cars belong to patrons of the restaurant next door. They have been ticketed on numerous occasions, but continue to park there.

Cars parked on the sidewalk need to be towed, not ticketed. Officers present for Ray Andolino will look into this matter.

As for the private sanitation picking up to early, Mr. Leo spoke with CPR carting and was told there are no laws regarding what time private sanitation can come into a neighborhood. We're on the early schedule. This matter has been passed on to our sanitation representative.

Anne read the letter she received from Mayor Idoni in response to our request for a housing task force. He promised to look into the matter, but no task force at this time. We will continue conversations with Mr. Idoni and hold him to his word and let it be known we want action.

Anne wrote to Mr. Zimmerman regarding graffiti on the Stephenson Park playground equipment. She has not heard from him yet. She will call him.

Stephenson beautification project has been approved by the city. Planters will be placed on the island sometime in May. We will pick the exact date at our next meeting.

Next meeting will be Tuesday April 20,2004
