ZONING ISSUES w/ Susan Kettner, Esq.
Susan Kettner, an Attorney in New Rochelle was our guest speaker at our February EECA Meeting held at Halligan
Hall. Susan comes from a long history of family Attorneys. She also grew up in New Rochelle. During our meeting
Susan shed some light on issues that the Zoning Board deals with, i.e., Pools, Decks, C of O's, Variances, etc....
The Zoning Board consists of volunteers appointed by the City Manager.
She explained how if people are turned downed by Noel Shaw, Building Commissioner then they have to go
before the Zoning Board of Appeals!
Meetings are held to determine if someone is allowed to be "approved" or get a variance...Neighbors are asked
to come to give their opinion... How will it affect the neighborhood....These meetings are posted for the public to view.
