- Peg Godfrey investigates sewer conditions
* All sewer pipes in city cracked and broken
* Rain water seeps into pipes and creates overflow
* One connection to main sewerage flow represents 12 town houses
* Peg Godfrey proposes tighter regulations; possibly a ban on building new developments
* Contact Jim Maisano, county legislature, about ban; report/inform Dir. of Public Works for
sewer back-ups.
- PACT Officer Glen Spinner was present and reported:
* Stephenson Park continues to be monitored
* Last month, there were two violations given to adolescents for loitering and littering in park after dark.
* Officer Spinner continues to encourage calling with any unsavory behavior. A recent complaint of littering by one of
our neighbors resulted in an arrest for pot and counterfeit money. *Call 654-2300 or if you want to remain anonymous call 632-cops.
* Special survey was set-up on Lispenard Avenue near the rectory to tract speeding.
* Power tools and lawnmovers are not allowed before 10am. on Sat. & Sun. and leaf blowers are not allowed at all
on Sat. & Sun. between May 1st. and October 1st.
- Committee chair of Stephenson Park Renewal Project, Chris Arena, was present amd reported:
* Planting date set for planters along Stephenson Blvd. islands and for the hillside facing Stephenson Blvd. is set for
May 21st., raindate is May 22nd. @ 10am.
* Chris gave us an update on his meeting with William Zimmerman from Parks & Recreation. An architect is working
on plans which when completed will be presented to our neighbors.
* The large rocks have been placed on Lyons Place to discourage illegal parking.
and a new fence in in place along the children's park area.
Reminders:
* Next meeting is on May 25th. and hopefully our guest speakers will include Councilman James Stowe and Councilman Bramson.
They may be bringing representatives from the Building and Fire Departments.This is a VERY IMPORTANT meeting because
the main topic will be illegal housing. We will be confirming all of this via a flyer towards the end of the month. Please
