Our new PACT officer and the head of our new Park Committee were both unable to attend our meeting. They are rescheduled for speaking at future meetings.

  Pat Steets and David Raue co-managers of the New Rochelle Racquetball Club on Palmer Ave. attended and discussed a new addition proposed for the Racquetball Club. The purpose of the addition is to build an "indoor climbing wall". The new sport has support in local school clubs and with younger adults.The new addition, it was explained, would be the height of the existing building and would extend into the present parking lot.

  Concerns over the aesthetics of both the new and existing building were raised. The buildings were discribed as being barren and suggestions were made for landscaping, planters, murals or even fake windows to help the buildings blend in. The managers were very receptive and assurred us they would work with us. They have applied for needed city zoning permits etc.

  Questions about traffic increases were addressed. David said that there should be a very limited increase in cars mostly at peak hours between 5:30 & 8:30 PM.

  A proposal was made for a litter campaign with the idea to incorporate our neighborhood teenagers to participate, possibly with a cookout or contest.
