The meetings in July and August were informal. We did not have a guest speaker but held lively discussions on neighborhood
problems and progress.
*Detective Ray Andolina was on hand in July and informed us that even though there were two recent thefts in the
neighborhood that crime has dropped in our area. He also stated that the neighborhood kids are cooperating and when they are
asked to move along, they do as they are told. Det. Andolina spoke to us about a pilot program with the New Rochelle
Police Department that is designed to give citizens a better understanding of the role of the New Rochelle police
officers. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about beginning our own neighborhood watch program. Several of
our members signed up for the Citizen Police Academy classes.
*In August we discussed a couple of problems concerning CVS. It was reported that deliveries to the store are taking
place in the middle of the night and disturbing residents. The liter in the CVS parking lot was also discussed. The regional
manager assured us that these two issues will be resolved.
*There were five suspected illegal housing situations reported to the association and these have been fowarded to the
New Rochelle Fire Department for investigation. We will keep you abreast of this situation as we are informed.
