Meeting on September,2004

Minutes

Councilman of our District, District # 3, James C. Stowe was introduced to the members. He explained the current boundries of the District and that our District contains about 12,000 residents. Mr. Stowe said that he wants to bring stability to District # 3, which he also discribed as the most neglected over the last 10 years. The meeting was then opened up to a question and answer session. The first question was why are we proceeding on getting funding for the proposed garbage transfer station if it is not 100% available. Mr. Stowe said they must be assured of the funding first. He was then asked about the Hartley House project and explained the progress being made there. President Anne Guida stated the frustration in the lack of communication between the Fire Dept. and the Building Dept. Also the EECA feels that we are getting the "run around". James Stowe said that this was unacceptable and would address this issue. He also said that he wanted all our issues to be sent to him and he would try to channel them for us. It was stated that e-mails are recommended because they create a paper trail.
   Other issues discussed were:
*The fact that there was 5 weeks passed since the last street cleaning.
( The City was short a truck which has now been purchased.)
*  Cars were parking on the grass at Stephenson Park when dropping off children for school.( Will talk to new PACT officer when he arrives.)
* Are there any monies being allocated for our park. ( Mr. Stowe will check.)
* Progress on the proposed Waterfront development was explained by Mr. Stowe.
* He also explained the state of the "Bally " parcel. ( owned by Bel-Aqua)
* Mr. Stowe would look into the fact that there were no sound barriers in this section of I-95.
Mr. Vince Malfetano, who is running for Assemblyman, introduced himself. Our Secretery  Kathy O'Connell was thanked by Anne for her past year of service to the EECA. Peggy Meli was introduced and will be taking Kathy's place until the next election.
